I wandered through two antique shops here in Cottonwood over the weekend. The stuff I saw looked pretty much the same as the stuff I saw in antique shops back in Chesterton. Except for the wagon wheels–lots and lots of wagon wheels, a saddles and cowboy gear. And most especially Steely Dan, the piece of metal artwork I found (or who found me) for a yard mascot. Most of my neighbors have clay pots, chimineas, angels, bunnies, or boulders as centerpieces in their yards. Now I can brag about my found-object-built addition to my little square of landscape. Actually, I have two unusual pieces of art gracing my lot. The other is a glazed ceramic birdbath created by the late Jack Turner. It’s one of a kind, just like Steely Dan. I promise I will post pictures of each real soon.
